General Membership Meeting
342 Dirksen Senate Office Building

The General Membership Meeting is scheduled for the Homeland Security Governmental Affairs Committee Hearing Room thanks to the efforts of alumna U.S. Senator Susan Collins (Maine, 1971), her chief of staff, Steve Abbott (Maine, 1981) and his administrative assistant, Rachel McFadden.

For security reasons, all alumni who plan to attend the meeting will need to return a completed Registration Form (PDF) no later than February 28.

There is no cost to attend the General Membership Meeting. Dress is business casual. When you register, be sure to include an email address or phone number so that USSYAA can contact you regarding security measures required to enter the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Also, unfortunately, we have been informed that no restaurants are available inside the building on Saturday morning, and that outside food may not be brought into the building. As such, alumni are encouraged to have breakfast before the meeting!

Saturday, March 3, 2007
Arrival Day at the U.S. Senate Youth Program
Renaissance Mayflower Hotel
1127 Connecticut Ave. NW

USSYAA also invites alumni to assist in welcoming the newest class of 104 bright and energetic high school delegates. For many people, this experience is the highlight of Alumni Weekend. For the past several years, alumni have staffed career mentoring tables on the fields of government, education, business, law, medicine and journalism. Alumni share information on education preparation, skills development, internships, trends in the particular field, and tips for career success.

USSYAA Director Michael Sundermeyer (Missouri, 1969), who serves as liaison to the Hearst Foundations, organizes the tables. To volunteer for one of the tables, please contact Michael at . If you plan to attend Arrival Day, please notify U.S. Senate Youth Program Executive Director Rita Almon at . Dress is business casual.

Please join your fellow U.S. Senate Youth Program alumni for an enjoyable weekend of networking and reminiscing. Look for more information in the upcoming holiday newsletter. See you in Washington, D.C.!
